I’m Lisa Fox, illustrator, designer and the person behind Fox & Boo.
I am the creative force ... hhmm that sounds like a bit of a cliche. Rewind, ok I'm the artistic type, a bit of a wanderer, road less travelled, unable to walk more than a hundred yards without stopping to wonder at something in the hedgerow. I love nature. I just LOVE it.
These little observations are where many of my ideas begin. I’m fascinated by the beauty, pattern or character discovered in an ordinary moment of observation, and I try to capture an essence of that in my illustrations.

My illustration style has been shaped by a lifelong love of the pattern of William Morris, William de Morgan and the Arts & Crafts movement, as well as early twentieth century book illustration, particularly lithographic prints and wood engravings.
But my unique semi realistic and sometimes whimsy styling is shaped by years spent working professionally first as a commercial illustrator for the Countryside Council for Wales and the National Trust, and then as a children’s book illustrator creating artwork for publishers such as Scholastic and Ladybird Books.
EARLY DAYS
Early mornings and British weather…
Fox & Boo began in 2017 as a family business, trading at artisan markets and events, so we understand 5am starts and what it’s like to stand in sub zero temperatures all day.
We spent years travelling the artisan circuit, meeting customers, and building a loyal community of Fox & Boo followers, whilst all the while developing our range and portfolio of designs.
The business has grown and changed along the way, but the important bits have stayed the same: the illustrations, the curiosity, the love of British wildlife and countryside, and the belief that beautifully designed things should have a story behind them.
Made in Britain, because it matters …
We’re proud to be a British business, and we believe in supporting other British businesses too.
For us, provenance and craftsmanship matters. We only work with British suppliers and as such all our products are printed or sewn here in the UK.
We are continually looking for ways to reduce our product miles and tread a little more lightly, like having agreements with printers to print and ship direct to trade, saving one journey. Every little helps …
